UDSM DHIS2 Lab Engages in Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Integrating Climate Data with Malaria Surveillance

From January 27 to 28, 2025, the UDSM DHIS2 Lab participated in a multi-stakeholder meeting that was held to explore the integration of climate data with malaria surveillance systems, bringing together experts from the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), the National Malaria Control Programme(NMCP), Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA), HISP Tanzania, and Ifakara Health Institute (IHI).

Discussions focused on leveraging climate data for malaria prediction, addressing gaps in data accessibility, and developing a unified platform for informed decision-making.

Key outcomes included recommendations for system architecture, stakeholder collaboration, and the digitization of meteorological data to enhance malaria control strategies.

The meeting underscored the need for cross-sector partnerships in strengthening data-driven malaria interventions.
