A three-day HRHIS–Council Integration Working Session was successfully conducted, bringing together technical teams from the UDSM DHIS2 Lab, the Ministry of Health (MoH), and professional councils, which was held in Dodoma, Tanzania.
The session focused on restoring, testing, and strengthening interoperability between the Human Resources for Health Information System (HRHIS) and council source systems through the Health Information Mediator (HIM).
Key areas of focus included:
✔️ Restoring and verifying system connectivity via HIM
✔️ Validating data exchange and synchronization
✔️ Identifying and addressing data quality challenges
✔️ Reviewing and standardizing variables, codes, and metadata
✔️ Agreeing on data cleaning responsibilities and next implementation steps
Through hands-on technical reviews and collaborative problem-solving, the teams worked to ensure reliable, high-quality health workforce data to support planning, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
This collaboration marks an important step toward strengthening digital health systems and improving health workforce management in Tanzania.
