User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Upgraded Malaria Surveillance System in Zanzibar

In January, we conducted the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the upgraded Malaria Surveillance System (Web & Android) at Zanzibar Malaria Elimination Programme (ZAMEP) offices.

The exercise brought together key partners, including the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) – DHIS2 Lab, PSI Tanzania, the Zanzibar Epidemiology Unit, and Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) teams, to validate workflows, data capture tools, analytics, reporting, and mobile offline functionality.

The collaborative, hands-on approach enabled meaningful discussions, alignment with WHO malaria surveillance standards, and clear agreements on system improvements and next steps toward deployment.

Grateful for the strong partnership and shared commitment to strengthening malaria surveillance through digital health innovation and data-driven decision-making.
