Bennett Benedict is a results-oriented software engineer with over six years of experience. Currently a Software Developer and DevOps Engineer at UDSM DHIS2 Lab, Bennett excels in developing web, server, and mobile applications, managing integration systems, and automating software delivery.
His extensive background includes roles such as Software Developer at Flexcode Labs, Ellipsis Digital, and Larven, where he managed backend development, CI/CD pipelines, and server infrastructure. Bennett is also an active open-source contributor, maintaining JavaScript and Node.js libraries used widely in Tanzania.
Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with honors from the University of Dar es Salaam.
Beyond the code, Bennett is a passionate tech community leader and organizer. Currently, he serves as a Tech Lead and Organizer for Google Developer Group (GDG) Dar es Salaam. This role involves coordinating community tech events for developers in the region. Bennett’s commitment to fostering the tech scene goes further. He previously held the position of Community Manager/Organizer and Mentor at Andela from 2018 to 2020, where he organized events and mentored aspiring developers. Additionally, Bennett contributes as an Assistant Organizer for DarJS, another initiative focused on bringing JavaScript enthusiasts together through community events. Bennett’s dedication extends to the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) DHIS2 Club as well, where he serves as a mentor, guiding students interested in the DHIS2 platform.
