Mr. Henry Mkama is a dedicated Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the College of Information and Communication Technology (CoICT), University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He joined UDSM in June 2023, following the completion of his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Dodoma in 2022.
At the UDSM DHIS2 Lab, Mr. Mkama serves as an Information Systems Analyst, where he plays a vital role in managing the lab’s digital platforms and contributing to the development and deployment of health information systems. His responsibilities include maintaining the lab’s website, supporting system customization, and participating in various DHIS2 implementation initiatives across Tanzania.
With a strong background in software development, cybersecurity, and software safety, Mr. Mkama combines his technical expertise to create secure and efficient digital health solutions. He is a certified professional in cybersecurity and is particularly committed to safeguarding sensitive health data while enhancing system functionality and user experience.
His dual roles in academia and digital health innovation reflect his passion for contributing to national healthcare digitization efforts and mentoring the next generation of technology professionals. Mr. Mkama remains an active team member in projects that support data-driven decision-making and improved healthcare delivery through open-source platforms like DHIS2.
