NTLP collaborated with the UDSM DHIS2 Lab to add the TPT module into the main DHIS2 ETL system to streamline the process of initiating TPT for eligible TB index contacts. The integration of the ETL Community mobile application, which is used by Community Health Workers (CHWs) to screen suspect TB cases in the community and refer them to health facilities, and DHIS2 ETL allows details of contacts eligible for TPT initiation from the community to be sent directly to DHIS2 ETL for TPT initiation. This implementation is expected to accelerate the whole process of active case finding, treatment of TB clients and initiation of TB Preventive therapy and inturn expected to reduce TB burden in the country.
