Mr. Sogorya Mwita is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UDSM and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Beijing Institute of Technology, China.
Since 2017, Mr. Mwita has been actively involved in the UDSM DHIS2 Lab, where he serves as a Senior Analyst. His work focuses on documenting, customizing, and managing open-source software solutions, particularly in the realm of health information systems. He has contributed to the design and implementation of integrated disease surveillance and response systems, including the development of automated epidemic early detection mechanisms using DHIS2-based platforms.
Mr. Mwita’s research interests encompass Big Data Analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Recommender Systems. He is also pursuing doctoral studies, furthering his expertise in these areas.
Mr. Mwita’s combined experience in academia and practical system implementation positions him as a key contributor to the advancement of digital health solutions and the education of future computer science professionals in Tanzania.
